May 28, 2026: a joint exhibition of Department for Tourism and Foreign Relations of Taganrog Local Government and the Taganrog Chekhov Public Library, "Cyrillic in Countries of the World," was
unveiled to the public on May 21. Yesterday, it was supplemented by additional materials, dedicated to the celebration of Slavic Literature Day in the city of Burgas, Bulgaria.
For Bulgaria, Slavic Literature Day, which coincides with the Feast of Saints Cyril and Methodius, is not limited to the Cyrillic alphabet alone. Although it is called Letter Day, it has many other meanings: national self-identification, connection to Orthodoxy, and national unity.
In recent years, students from Burgas have participated in several cultural projects of Taganrog. This year, they sent photographs of a festive procession in their hometown.
The exhibition is located in the lobby of the historic building of Taganrog Chekhov Public Library (Ulitsa Petrovskaya, 96). Admission is free.
