September 5, 2023: a series of events dedicated to the upcoming
325th anniversary of Taganrog's foundation is still ongoing. One of them was the regional children's art contest "Taganrog Is 325."
The contest, organized by Taganrog Children's Art School named after Seraphima Blonskaya on the initiative of Taganrog Local Government, was supported by Taganrog Culture Department, Taganrog Art Museum, and the local division of the Union of Artists of Russia.
The young participants pictured Taganrog of the past, present and future, mainly historical buildings and events. A total of 510 works from all parts of Rostov Oblast were submitted to the judging panel. The authors of 41 drawings became winners of "Taganrog Is 325." The grand prix was awarded to the 12-year-old participant Angelina Bekh from the city of Shakhty for her work "Portrait of Nikolai Alferaki," in the category "Important Persons of Taganrog."
Deputy Rostov Oblast Governor Alexander Skryabin took part in the awards ceremony. He congratulated everybody on the festive occasion and wished the children further success in art.
Meanwhile, the applications for the International Children's Art Contest
"Anton Chekhov and Characters of his Works" are accepted until January 31, 2024.
