June 18, 2021: a new exhibition opens to the public at Taganrog Museum of Architecture and Urbanism. Until the end of August visitors are welcome to see the exhibition "The City of My Own. Construction Experience" by Yuri Fesenko.
The artist was born in Taganrog and now resides in Moscow. He has been working on the street art project "The City of My Own" by producing numerous images in different locations of Taganrog.
"I've known Taganrog, its history and present state, since my childhood. Nevertheless, every time I return in Taganrog it seems to be a new city, so I have to reacquaint", Yuri Fesenko said. According to the author, he used streets and parks of Taganrog as "sheets" in an album, while natural materials - water, snow, sand, and clay - became his paints and pencils. They are fragile and ephemeral, so these environmental artworks disappear almost immediately after their creation.
"They are fleeting reflections of my vision on what I perceive as a theme. My works appear and disappear as if somebody is turning pages of an album. Every single work starts from a clean sheet", the artist said.
"The City of My Own. Construction Experience" can be seen Tuesday to Sunday, from 10AM to 5:30PM. Venue: Taganrog Museum of Architecture and Urbanism, Ulitsa Frunze 80.
