November 4, 2022: Taganrog City Council President and City Executive Inna Titarenko and Deputy City Manager Sergey Bochan took part in a ceremony dedicated to both the 90th anniversary of the launch of
Taganrog Streetcar System and the 45th anniversary of the local trolleybus system.
Inna Titarenko presented Taganrog City Council commendation letters to employees of the Tram and Trolleybus Bureau (TTB) and
"Sinara - Urban Transport Solutions Taganrog", as well as to retired long-service workers of the Bureau. At the same time, Sergey Bochan granted thank-you letters signed by Taganrog City Manager Mikhail Solonitsin.
Addressing the audience, City Executive reminded that electric transport not only performs an important public function, but is also eco-friendly. In turn, Deputy City Manager noted that Rostov Oblast Governor Vasily Golubev asked the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation to allocate ten electric buses and six charging stations to Taganrog in 2023, and there is a good chance of meeting the request.
The whole 28.5-mile streetcar network has been modernized in two stages. The city received 50 new vehicles, 8 new electric substations, 102 passenger shelters, streetcar depot and the traffic control center. Besides, "Sinara" improved the
open-air dance pavilion in Taganrog's Gorky Park in August 2021.
