March 18, 2021: Taganrog participated in the 27th international travel fair MITT. It was held at the exhibition and trade centre Crocus Expo (Krasnogorsk, Moscow Oblast).


MITT in Moscow is one of the largest trade shows for travel and tourism in Russia, ranking among five largest travel and tourism trade shows in the world. This year it got together 1523 companies from 229 countries and representatives of 52 regions of Russian Federation. Taganrog's immense tourist potential was introduced in the framework of Rostov Oblast's pavilion, contributed directly by Taganrog Local Government. The Head of Rostourism Zarina Doguzova, who opened the exhibition, was also a guest of Rostov Oblast's pavilion.

It is noteworthy that a presentation of the fifth edition of "Defense of Taganrog in 1855" festival was made at MITT. One of the event's initiators is a member of Taganrog City Duma Yelena Sirota.


The first edition of "Defence of Taganrog in 1855" reenactment was held in May 2016. In recent years, the festival became international. Previous editions gathered participants from many countries, such as Belarus, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Lebanon, and others.

It has already been announced that the fifth edition of "Defense of Taganrog in 1855" festival will be held on May 14-16, maintaining all necessary safety measures against COVID-19.
