October 2, 2024: in today's session the newly elected Taganrog City Council (Duma) unanimously approved Ms. Svetlana Kambulova as Taganrog City Executive.

Due to the recent changes in the structure of the local authorities, Taganrog Local Government is placed under the command of Taganrog City Executive instead of City Manager. Before the changes, President of Taganrog City Council used to serve as City Executive.


A competition to fill the vacancy was declared by Taganrog City Council, and a selection board, made of its aldermen and Rostov Oblast Governor's authorized delegates, accepted documentation from five candidates. The last Taganrog City Manager Andrey Fateyev eventually decided not to offer himself for the new position. Deputy City Manager for Economic Development Svetlana Kambulova and businessman Sergey Novikov were chosen out of five nominees after the intake meeting and testing. Both choices were submitted to Taganrog City Council as candidates for the city executive's office, and Svetlana Kambulova was approved.

Since 2010, Svetlana Kambulova held different positions at Rostov Oblast Government. In January 2022, she was assigned as Deputy City Manager for Economic Development.

On the same day, the local duma of the 8th convocation elected Roman Koryakin Taganrog City Council President.

The newly elect city executive assumes her office on October 3, 2024.
