oxana_kostina2 The damaged artworks from Taganrog were carefully restored by the State Russian Museum, Saint Petersburg. In particular, the experts have eliminated ruptures and stretches in the canvas as well as defects of the layers of paint. Impaired stretchers and frames have been substituted with new ones.

After the completion of the restoration works, the pieces of art were displayed at the exhibition titled "The Saved Masterpieces. State Russian Museum to Taganrog," which was held in Saint Petersburg's Marble Palace within the framework of "Neradovsky Readings" academic workshop in April-May.

Now, when the 22 artworks returned home, Taganrog Museum of Art is going to launch an exhibition with the restored items as its centerpiece.
