September 18, 2013 a surprise flash mob was held on the festival's opening night event. Live bronze figurines (played by the artists of theater studio "32", led by Taganrog Chekhov Theater actress Marina Dren) portrayed Taganrog citizens preparing for a theater visit and tormented by choices: what play to give preference to, what outfit to wear, etc.

All previous festivals went down in history due to their own special character and unique life. The latest 2013 theater festival was dominated by Russian classic theater in classic stage production: "Players" by Gogol, "Uncle's Dream" and "The Brothers Karamazov" by Dostoevsky, "The Bear," "The Seagull" and "The Cherry Orchard" by Anton Chekhov.
