Students of Taganrog Chekhov Teachers' College visiting sister city Lüdenscheid, Germany.

September 28, 2018: Nine students and three professors of the Taganrog Chekhov Teachers' College led by Dr. Victor Kulikov visited the sister city of Lüdenscheid. The trip was made within the framework of international educational exchanges with Adolf Reichwein Gesamtschule. Traditionally, the program was focused on acquaintance with the German educational system in North Rhine-Westphalia Land and comparison with Russian system, participation in the educational workshops, methods of teaching German and English as a foreign language. The students of Taganrog visited 130 lessons in Adolf Reichwein Gesamtschule.

Within the framework of the 750th anniversary of Lüdenscheid, German partners organized tours to such German cities and towns as Cologne, Essen, Dortmund, Frankfurt am Main, Bochum, Iserlohn, Oberhausen, Braunschweig, Espe, Hagen, Altena, and even Dutch cities Venlo and Roermond. Russian delegation had an opportunity to visit soccer plays, musicals, planetariums, computer Lights exhibition, Botanical Garden, organ and symphonic music concerts, cathedrals, churches and museums.

At the end of the visit the members of the Russian delegation laid flowers on the graves of Soviet people who died in the Nazi labor camp in Lüdenscheid.

The cooperation between the college in Taganrog and Lüdenscheid's gymnasium started in 2001 when the first TGPI student went for one-year course. The department signed an agreement with Adolf-Reichwein-Gesamtschule to develop educational exchanges between students of the two cities. Since 2005 the cooperation between the schools was transformed into student exchanges from both ends.
