Artists of the Taganrog Chekhov Drama Theater performed in Seoul, South Korea

June 20, 2013: artists of the Taganrog Chekhov Drama Theater visited Seoul, South Korea. The play Communicating Door (written by English playwright Sir Alan Ayckbourn) was presented by Taganrog artists within the framework of the 31st International Theater Festival, and was the only Russian production in the program.


Korean audience attentively and anxiously followed the play action, which was subtitled into Korean. The spectators cordially thanked the performers and said many good words to Taganrog artists backstage after the performance.

The program of stay was rich and diversified: artists of Taganrog Chekhov Drama Theater visited the Gyeongbokgung (Royal Palace), a Buddhist temple, performances by South Korean theaters, and also had an opportunity to see the rehearsals of Anton Chekhov's "The Seagull" by a Korean theater group. Their production will be presented within the framework of the International Theater Festival "In the Homeland of Anton Chekhov" is to be held on stage of the historic Taganrog Chekhov Drama Theater in September 2013.
