COVID-19 City of Taganrog's Mitigation And Response #29

September 1, 2020: Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Sergey Kravtsov announced earlier that Knowledge Day celebrations were supposed to be held in its traditional format, but considering current epidemiological situation. In fact, beginning of the school year and Knowledge Day were marked in Taganrog without substantial changes, while maintaining all health and safety regulations.

It should be reminded that the stay-at-home order, which was announced on March 30 by Rostov Oblast Governor Vasily Golubev in response to the COVID-19 outbreak, is no longer in force. Another set of regional restrictions was lifted on August 10, when public catering establishments and companies offering guided tours resumed their work.

As of September 1, 2020, 17060 cases of COVID-19 have been registered in Rostov Oblast region, and 14608 persons have already recovered. 165 people stay under regular medical supervision in the city of Taganrog. 342 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been registered in the city.

Taganrog Local Government has released several public announcements urging residents above 65 years of age to stay home to slow the spread of COVID-19 and to protect the most vulnerable in this community, and to consider social distancing of at least 1.5 meters/5 feet.
