January 27, 2022: given the deterioration of the epidemic situation, Rostov Oblast Governor Vasily Golubev signed a regulation on imposing new COVID-19 restrictions.
In particular, regular medical treatment has been suspended once again unless the person's life is under threat. Places of public catering have been limited to 75 per cent of the maximum capacity (food courts are only allowed 50 per cent). The activity of stages and dance floors on the premises of food courts has been suspended.
A ban on sports activities with spectators has been reintroduced, although it does not affect professional competitions. Indoors exhibitions, concerts, and other events are prohibited. Meanwhile, theaters continue working under the condition of no more than 50 per cent of the maximum capacity. At least 30 per cent of government and municipal officials must be transferred to remote working.
Governor indicated that the above mentioned restrictions are to remain in force until February 28, 2022. As of January 27, 208366 cases of COVID-19 have been registered in Rostov Oblast (a daily increase of 1122 cases), and 183707 people have already recovered.
