April 20, 2020: according to the latest information from Taganrog Health Department, the epidemiological situation in Taganrog as of April 20, 2020 is assessed as stable. 292 cases of COVID-19 have been registered in Rostov Oblast region. 77 persons stay under regular medical supervision in the city of Taganrog. Two confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been registered in Taganrog. 399 residents have been tested for COVID-19.
Earlier Taganrog City Manager Andrei Lisitsky advised worshippers to stay home over Russian Orthodox Easter under coronavirus lockdown. Taganrog churches have been ordered by the regional health officials and by church leadership to hold services with only priests, clergy members and choir singers present.
Taganrog Local Government has released public announcements urging residents to stay home, with family members to slow the spread of COVID-19 and to protect the most vulnerable in this community, and to consider social distancing of at least 1.5 meters/5 feet.
