Taganrog Celebrates its 323rd City Day

September 14, 2021: Taganrog celebrated the 323rd anniversary of its foundation on September 12. Rostov Oblast Deputy Governor Alexander Skryabin, the City Council President and City Executive Inna Titarenko, and Taganrog City Manager Andrey Lisitsky laid flowers to the monument of Peter the Great - the founder of the city.

Municipal cultural institutions and creative teams offered many interesting online programs: 25 events were held September 1-14, 2021. For example, Taganrog Chekhov Public Library became the venue for an art exhibition entitled "My Taganrog". Gorky Park organized a creative workshop. Taganrog Palace of Youth held junior art exhibition "Walking through Taganrog", photo exhibition "Urban Tunes", and concert "Easy When Together". The Community Center "Festivalny" offered series of events and flash mobs "With Love to the Home City" as well as the concert "323 Steps to Success".

One person traditionally received the freedom of Taganrog City. In 2021 Tamara Buvalko became the honorary freeman. She worked as Deputy-Mayor for many years and contributed to preserving Taganrog's historical heritage.

Rostov Oblast Deputy Governor Alexander Skryabin, the City Council President - City Executive Inna Titarenko, and Taganrog City Manager Andrey Lisitsky congratulated the citizens on the 323rd anniversary of Taganrog's foundation.

"The city is undergoing great transformations. They are meant to revitalize Taganrog, to make it more comfortable with no change of the historical image. I congratulate everyone and wish happiness, peace and welfare to every citizen. Happy City Day!", said Andrey Lisitsky.
