Taganrog Celebrates its 322nd City Day

September 14, 2020: on September 12 Taganrog celebrated the 322nd anniversary of its foundation. The City Council President and City Executive Inna Titarenko and Taganrog City Manager Andrey Lisitsky laid flowers to the monument of the Peter the Great - the founder of the city.

Municipal cultural institutions and creative teams offered many interesting online programs: 51 events between 4 to 15 September. For example, Taganrog Chekhov Public Library became the venue for a series of publications, a photo exhibition (the city in 1960-1970s), international mobile exhibition "Remembrance Dialogue - Way for Peace", and several videos about the history of Taganrog. Gorky Park organized a creative workshop and the event "Dedicated to the Beloved City" that were both held online. The Community Center "Festivalny" offered flash mob "Let's Sing Together" featuring videos of songs about Taganrog.

Unfortunately, restrictions regarding mass gatherings in Taganrog and Rostov Oblast are to remain in force until late September.

As of September 14, 2020, 19030 cases of COVID-19 have been registered in Rostov Oblast region, and 15551 persons have already recovered. 122 people stay under regular medical supervision in the city of Taganrog. 397 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been registered in the city.
