March 23, 2014: the group of Russia Today Arabic News came to the home city of
Anton Chekhov in late January 2014. It was led by Mr. Ashraf Sarhan, Egyptian actor and director representing the RT Arabic channel.
Among the shooting locations were: birth house of
Faina Ranevskaya and Ranevskaya monument, the cult Freken Bok Cafe (considered to be the true monument to Faina Ranevskaya), Peter the Great monument, St. Nicholas Church, The Chekhovs' Shop (Lavka) Memorial Museum, Taganrog Museum of Art, The Stone Steps, Pushking Embankment and Gulf of Taganrog,
Chekhov Public Library, art performance at the Gallery Fluxus Belka & Strelka (organized by its founding artists Victoria Barvenko and Svetlana Pesetskaya), and many other landmarks in downtown Taganrog.
