March 20, 2018: fourteen foreign participants of the forum "Russia — Land of Opportunities" (RLO) visited the city of Taganrog within the framework of their trip to Rostov Oblast.
The forum events are held in 15 regions of the Russian Federation from March 16 to March 20, 2018. The delegation visited Taganrog on March 18 and was composed of young people aged 19—33, who represented 12 countries: Austria, Azerbaijan, China, Croatia, Ghana, Germany, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Moldova, Serbia and Slovakia.
The program in Taganrog started at the Russian emperor Peter the Great's landing place, where now a Marc Antokolski statue to the founder of the city stands. After a walk along the Historical Boulevard, the foreign guests were accompanied by Mrs. Tamara Shevchenko, Vice-director of Rostov Oblast Youth Affairs Council and Mr. Alexander Mirgorodski, Taganrog Foreign relations officer to the polling station #1249, located in the vicinity. Participants of the forum had an opportunity to see both the voting process during Russia's presidential election and local referendum on residential and public landscaping.
During the tour of the city, foreign guests also visited the memorial museum "Birth House of Anton Chekhov", Taganrog Museum of Art, Tchaikovsky House, Depaldo Stone Steps and Pushkin Embankment.
The forum "Russia — Land of Opportunities" was initiated by the Russian President Vladimir Putin to develop a transprent social elevator system, self-realization of talented youth and professionals in various fields as well as to support charity and consolidate the best social initiatives.
