The 3rd edition of French Cinema Mini Festival held in Taganrog


March 31, 2019: The "Days of French Culture" and the third edition of the Francophone Cinema Mini Festival were held in Taganrog March 28-30, 2019. Taganrog Chekhov Public Library was selected venue for the screenings. The event was co-hosted by regional branch of Alliance Française, Taganrog Arts & Culture Council, Taganrog Chekhov Teachers College (part of Rostov State University of Economics) and Taganrog Municipal Government.

The opening ceremony was held on March 29, 2019 in the historical building of Taganrog Chekhov Public Library, bringing together representatives of the local government, general public, educational establishments and cultural institutions. François Vielhescaze - director of Alliance Française in Rostov-on-Don, Oleg Sozinov - president of of Alliance Française in Rostov-on-Don and Andrey Goloborodko, director of Taganrog Chekhov Teachers College took this opportunity to present several commendation letters.

The French cinema mini festival's program featured 3 film screenings: "The White Knights" ("Les Chevaliers Blancs") - a 2015 Belgian-French drama film directed by Joachim Lafosse, "Sophie's Misfortunes" ("Les Malheurs de Sophie") - a 2016 French film written and directed by Christophe Honoré, and "Corniche Kennedy" a 2016 French drama film directed by Dominique Cabrera.
