October 13, 2019: "Dozynki" Harvest Festival took place in Taganrog's Gorky Park. It was organized by the local national cultural autonomy
"Byelorussians of Taganrog" led by Elina Starikova. Weather favored this traditional Slavic feast and gathered many people who came to attend folk music concerts and creative selfie zones.
In welcoming organizers, participants and visitors of the festival, President of
Taganrog City Council and Taganrog City Executive Inna Titarenko thanked for this initiative and the creative approach.
"The city of Taganrog is remarkable in the fact that there has never been a titular ethnic group. Numerous natives of Italy, Greece, Azerbaijan, Byelorussia and other countries have lived together and have always had very good relations based on understanding and friendship", - reminded City Executive - "Today's celebration is not the first festival, organized by the local Byelorussian national cultural autonomy. Their creative groups have participated in many cultural events, including those organized in cooperation with the local city council. We planted maple trees in Soglasiya Square and in Klenovaya Street, and I hope there would be other joint initiatives".
