"The day before the competition, I received a small but significant injury. By bad chance, I cut the middle finger of my right hand, right where the bowstring is held. This had never happened before in my sporting career. Naturally, it hasn't healed up, and the shots were literally through the blood. Despite the pain and discomfort, I kept on shooting. It resulted in two medals. I hope this short story will serve as an example of how you need to continue doing your job no matter what. After all, a person, especially an athlete, is much stronger than physical injuries," wrote Yelena Osipova on her VKontakte page.

Throughout her distinguished career, Yelena Osipova has been on track for a great number of medals and other major achievements. Among the most important, she won a silver medal at the Summer Olympics in Tokyo as a member of the ROC women's national archery team and another silver medal in women's individual archery event. She was among the athletes to receive the state award - the Medal of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" of the first class.
