Yelena Osipova Wins Silver at World Military Archery Championship in Bangladesh

March 4, 2024: the 3rd World Archery Championship of the International Military Sports Council (IMSC) was held in the city of Dhaka, Bangladesh, on February 25-29. Participants from Bangladesh, Belarus, Brazil, Germany, France, Iran, the Republic of Korea, Pakistan, Romania, Russia, Slovenia, and Sri Lanka competed in individual and team events.

Yelena Osipova from Taganrog, who represented CSKA (Central Army Sports Club), achieved positive results by winning the silver medal in women's team recurve bow (together with her teammates Inna Stepanova and Victoria Budayeva). Unfortunately, health problems baffled Osipova's competitive result in the individual event (ranked 9th).

"I will go on improving my skills so that I shoot the bow with maximum precision in the future, regardless of the state of my health," wrote Yelena Osipova on her VKontakte page.

Throughout her distinguished career, Yelena Osipova has been on track for a great number of medals and other major achievements. Among the most important, she won a silver medal at the Summer Olympics in Tokyo as a member of the ROC women's national archery team and another silver medal in women's individual archery event. She was among the athletes to receive the state award - the Medal of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" of the first class.
