August 6, 2024: the international archery competition "Nevsky Strely" ("Neva Arrows") took place on August 1-5 in the city of Saint Petersburg. The competition brought together 211 athletes from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, South Korea, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan.
The Russian team with Yelena Osipova from Taganrog, Svetlana Gomboyeva and Valeria Tsyrendorzhiyeva beat the South Korean team 5-4 in the final of the women's team recurve bow event. Yelena Osipova also won bronze in the women's individual recurve bow event.
"I am very pleased that the result has improved a little. I shot quite well in these competitions. Let's keep on progressing," wrote Yelena Osipova on her VKontakte page.
Throughout her distinguished career, Yelena Osipova has been on track for a great number of medals and other major achievements. Among the most important, she won
a silver medal at the Summer Olympics in Tokyo as a member of the ROC women's national archery team and another
silver medal in women's individual archery event. She was among the athletes to receive the state award - the
Medal of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" of the first class.
