June 21, 2023: the 2nd international archery tournament "Grand Prix Nur-Sultan" finished on June 18. About 200 athletes from 10 countries (Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, South Korea, Sudan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan) came to contest 12 sets of medals in individual and team events.
Yelena Osipova from Taganrog was among a large number of medal winners of the Olympic and Asian Games, World, Asian and European Championships who took part in the grand prix. As a result, Yelena Osipova ranked 5th in women's individual recurve bow and won gold in the mixed event with Aldar Tsybikzhapor.
"Although I didn't manage to take a medal place in the individual contest, I am satisfied with my shooting. Plus, the gold in the mixed team competition is a great thing by itself," wrote Elena Osipova on her VKontakte page.
Last month, Yelena Osipova won
three silver medals at Belarus Archery Open. In August 2022 Yelena Osipova won gold in women's individual recurve bow at the
2022 All-Russia Summer Spartakiad.
In April 2022, Yelena Osipova became the
champion of Russia in women's individual recurve bow. Earlier she won
two silver medals at the 2021 Hyundai Archery World Cup Final in Yankton, USA. In 2021 the athlete claimed her first
silver medal at the Summer Olympics in Tokyo as a member of the ROC women's national archery team and
her second silver medal in women's individual archery event.
She was among the athletes to receive the state award - the
Medal of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" of the first class.
