May 31, 2023: an official delegation led by the Chairman of the National Standardization Committee of the Republic of Belarus Mr. Valentin Tataritsky visited Rostov Oblast on May 28-31, 2023. The purpose of this visit was to discuss how to expand the mutually beneficial bilateral relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Don region. On May 30, the delegation visited the city of Taganrog. It was accompanied by Rostov Oblast Deputy Minister of Economic Development Yelena Fedotova and Foreign Relations Officer Alexander Mirgorodsky.

The guests from Byelorussia visited the main cultural attractions of Taganrog's downtown area, including Peter the Great's monument and the memorial sign "Trinity Fortress on Tagan-Rog Cape", which was inaugurated a year ago, and Anton Chekhov memorial sites: The Memorial Museum "Birth House of Anton Chekhov" and the Museum of Literature "Chekhov Gymnasium".

The partnership agreement between Republic of Belarus and Rostov Oblast was signed later that same day, on May 30, in Rostov-on-Don, after the delegation had laid flowers to the war monument at Sambek Heights.
