April 16, 2019:
Beriev Aircraft Corp. took part in Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA-2019) - the largest show of its kind within the Asia Pacific region.
The stand of the company was organized at the exhibition area of the Russian aircraft-makers consortium United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) and presented information on
Beriev's Be-200 multipurpose amphibious aircraft and the light amphibian Be-103.
The Asia Pacific region is one of the key export markets for Russian amphibious aircraft. In June 2017 Beriev Aircraft Corp. and Energy Leader Aircraft Manufacturing Co. Ltd.
signed a sales agreement for the delivery of two Be-200 amphibians, two Be-103 amphibians to China, with a call option agreement for two more Be-200's. Governments of Indonesia and Thailand have also clearly set its focus on acquiring Be-200's. For years, Russian amphibians Be-200ES have been successfully used in firefighting missions in the South-East Asia.
In 2010 Be-200ES - the export version of the plane was certified by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). The BE-200 is a unique Russian amphibious aircraft that is well-suited for firefighting missions. It can land on water and scoop up thousands of gallons of water into its hull and then drop its load onto a wildfire in 18 seconds. These amphibians are used both for suppression of the natural fires, and for expeditious transfer of airmobile groups of rescuers to the place of emergency, delivery of humanitarian aid, crash equipment and equipment, patrol and monitoring of a situation. The plane can be reconfigured for search-and-rescue or passenger flying.
