November 27, 2012: Mayor Vladimir Prasolov met with Mr. Otto Roiss, President of Röhren-und Pumpenwerk Bauer GmbH (Austria) and Sales Director Erich Rauth.

BAUER specializes in all kinds of irrigation systems, offers innovative slurry technology, processing of waste waters in agricultural and chemical industries. The Austrian company's healthy financial position provides an opportunity to invest into a new production project.


In October 2012, Taganrog Local Government's representatives met with BAUER Group's management in Voitsberg, where the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding on the construction of a new factory producing irrigation systems & equipment. The Austrian company met the final decision and is ready to start the construction any day from now. The mayor of Taganrog is supporting these plans and the local government will be assisting with allocation of land. Otto Roiss and Erich Rauth brought a copy of the plant's project, which has been authorized and supported by the Russian Ministry of Agriculture.

"In our production process we will be using solar batteries that we will be placing on top of the production buildings, as one of our goals is to protect and preserve the environment. Maybe it would be less expensive to buy electricity on site, but that's the production scheme we use in Austria and Germany an that's what we're going to use in Taganrog", explained Mr. Roiss. "If everything goes as we plan, the launch of production will be scheduled for June 2013."

Mayor Vladimir Prasolov pointed out that Taganrog authorities are ready to support the serious intentions of the Austrian company and their project, especially taking into consideration the many technically skilled graduates of Taganrog colleges, the seaport and the Taganrog Iron & Steel Factory, whose products could be used in the new production.


After the meeting with the Mayor, the Austrian delegation proceeded to a meeting at the Rostov Oblast Agricultural ministry and visited TAGMET factory.
