September 8, 2022: the All-Russian yachting competitions "Autumn Sails" and open competitions of Taganrog's Youth Sports School of Olympic Reserve No. 3 started in Gulf of Taganrog on September 7. They will last until September 10.

Over 60 junior sailors from Samara, Togliatti, Sevastopol, Krasnodar, Rostov-on-Don and Taganrog as well as retired athletes of Rostov Oblast are taking part in the events.

President of Taganrog City Council and City Executive Inna Titarenko attended the opening ceremony. In her welcome address, she wished the participants will-to-win spirit, fair contest, and a tailwind. Besides, Inna Titarenko awarded Taganrog's Honorary Freeman, ex-yachtsman and coach Anatoliy Ivanovich Tischenko with "85 Years of Rostov Oblast" medal.

Anatoly Tishchenko Sr. is a Soviet Russian sprint canoer who competed in the early 1970s. He won three medals at the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships with two golds (K-1 500 m and K-1 4 x 500 m: both in 1970 in Copenhagen) and a bronze (K-1 4 x 500 m: in 1971 in Belgrade).

According to director of Taganrog's Youth Sports School of Olympic Reserve No. 3 Olga Tishchenko, the current competitions serve well as a training before upcoming Russian Sailing Championship (September 11-17).
