Taganrog provides assistance to people fleeing conflict in the East of Ukraine.

June 10, 2014: The local government provides assistance to people fleeing conflict in the East of Ukraine who continue to arrive in Taganrog. As of 10AM June 10, 2014 local time, 79 citizens of Ukraine have been officially provided a core group of services, including food, housing, clothing, and follow-up medical assistance. Among them are 24 kids and 1 disabled person. Most arrived from the cities of Donetsk, Lugansk and the town of Marinovka.

However, most refugees arrive to be reunited with their family members living in Taganrog or in Rostov Oblast area. In the past few days the city hall's foreign relations office alone provided consultations to more than 200 persons who came to fill in application forms, while others went directly to Federal Immigration Service (FMS) offices in Taganrog. Most fugitive families applied for Russian Federation citizenship and work permits within the framework of the newly launched government's resettlement program.

Four severely wounded residents of Marinovka were transported into Taganrog Emergency Hospital after being shot by The Right Sector neo-Nazi paramilitaries outfitted as a "national guard"; three of the wounded have been operated and remain in critical but stable condition. Besides that, doctors from Taganrog have provided medical assistance to colleagues in the neighboring Neklinovka District, the base for several refugee camps.

Over 10 tons of humanitarian aid were donated by Taganrog citizens to be shipped to people of Donbas.
