taganrog book festival logo The 5th International Book Festival
May 12-14, 2011 will be held the 5th Chekhov Book Festival. In 2011 this will become an international event.

Within the framework of the festival will be held:

- traditional meeting with authors in municipal schools, kindergartens, childrens' hospital, colleges and universities, libraries;
- meeting the editorial board of FOMA (kids magazine);
- lessons;
- public lessons for middle/high school students and teachers "Reading Chekhov";
- seminar series for teachers "What is a Literature Lesson Today?" ;
- presentation of Sergei Mikhalkov Children's Literature Awards and "Prosvetitel" ("Enlightener") literary awards;
- presentation of anti-prize "Absatz";
- master classes in reading technologies (for librarians, elementary school teachers, kindergarten teachers;
- autograph session;
- Award Ceremony Chekhovsky Dar (Chekhov's Gift);
- meeting the winners of the Chekhovsky Dar book awards.

Among confirmed guests of the festival are writers Ilya Boyashov, Boris Yevseev, Valery Popov, Pavel Krusanov, writer, critic, member of the Academy of Russian literature Lev Anninsky, critic Nikolay Alexandrov, Peoples' Artists Vladimir Kachan and Vladimir Fokin, general director of the Pushkin Library Foundation Maria Vedenyapina, and international guests from the birthplace of W. Shakespeare, Stratford on Avon.
