Taganrog, Dec. 20, 2004 - City Council (Duma) elections were held in Taganrog on December 19, 2004.
Twenty-five deputies will be elected to the new City Council, instead of eleven in the previous Duma. This is meant to bring the executive power closer to the people and make all Taganrog citizens active participants in the process of city management, making another step into direction of democracy and civil society.
