September 25 - October 2, 2013: a Russian-German seminar within the framework of specialists exchange was held in Taganrog. Its topic was "International work with the young people".
The program in Taganrog offered German guests visits to social institutions of the city, Taganrog Chekhov Public Library, Municipal center of extracurricular activities, Taganrog Youth Palace, a roundtable discussion in the Taganrog Local Government's department of youth policy, internships in the children's home number 17 of Taganrog.
Specialists of the Taganrog Youth Palace conducted a tour of the center and highlighted the main tasks of their everyday work. In the conference hall was shown an information film on activities held in youth clubs, unions and major events organized by the center. A roundtable discussion was held in the Youth Palace with students from Taganrog Teachers College and Southern Federal University. Mrs. Irina Belyakova, head of Youth Policy Department at the Taganrog City Hall met with German specialists, sharing information on youth policies conducted in Taganrog and Russian students asked the guests many questions on work with troubled teenagers in Germany.
The exchange between Taganrog teachers and Stiftung "Dr. Georg Haar" Foundation was conducted in accordance with the agreement on cooperation in youth policy between Germany and Russia signed in December 2004. The seminar held in the city resulted in development of an application to the fund of the Russian-German youth exchanges, suggesting long-term cooperation between the young people of Taganrog and Weimar.
The event was supported by German Society of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychosomatics and Psychotherapy (DGKJP) within the framework of cultural exchanges, Stiftung Deutsch-Russischer Jugendaustausch and Taganrog Local Government.
