October 26, 2005: Russian Federation Trampoline Championship will be held in Taganrog October 26-30, 2005, where the fans of this sport may have a chance of seeing the best trampoliners of Russia, including the award-winners at the World Championship from Taganrog.
The Trampoline World Championships 2005 was held September 12-25 in the city of Eindhoven, Netherlands. During the second week it was time for the juniors at the 17th International Age Group Competitions.
Representatives from 41 countries participated in this sports event. Eleven (11) Taganrogers were included in the Team Russia for the World Championship, representing the youth sports schools num.13 and num.11 of Taganrog.
The girls and boys from Taganrog competed in the Trampoline and Double Mini-Tramp disciplines.
Eight out of eleven Taganrog sportsmen qualified for the finals. They are: Sergey Kovalev, Dmitri Fidiev, Valeri Anisimov, Oleg Sudakov, Karina Pokrishkina, Vera Karpenko, Victoria Voronina and Anna Savchenko.
Three of them were awarded with medals: Dmitri Fidiev (11th grade student of Taganrog Gymnasium N.2) won two medals - the gold for double mini-tramp and the silver for trampoline. Valeri Anisimov (student of Taganrog school N.4) won the silver on double mini-tramp, and Vera Karpenko, graduate of Taganrog gymnasium n.2 and currently 1st year student at the Kuban Sports Academy won the double mini-tramp bronze.
The trainers of young sportsmen from Taganrog are the honored trainers of Russia Alexander and Natalia Shevchenko.
