October 23, 2023: a public planting of trees took place in Taganrog on October 21. It was held within the framework of "Arbor Day"'s fall campaign. Rostov Oblast Minister of Housing and Utilities Sergey Sizikov, Taganrog City Manager Andrey Fateyev, Taganrog City Executive Inna Titarenko, deputies of Taganrog City Council, representatives of local enterprises and institutions, and city residents participated in the event.


The main work area on Arbor Day was Park Tryokhsotletiya Taganrog (Tercentenary Park). The planting extended into more than 100 locations: public spaces, manufacturing plants, educational establishments. In particular, sections of Ulitsa Dzerzhinskogo, Oktyabrskaya Ploshchad (October Square), grounds of TAGMET, Beriev Aircraft Corp., Proboy, Krasny Gidropress were engaged in the activities. A total of over 1000 trees and 500 shrubs were planted in Taganrog on October 21.


"The work is not over yet. Preserving what have been planted seems no less important. This, of course, requires constant care. And so it will bring the results that all the residents of Taganrog are counting on," said Andrey Fateyev.

The city has kept the tradition to observe this holiday since the first action, which was held nine years ago with participation of Dr. Georg Birgelen, Deputy Head of Mission of the German Embassy in Moscow.
