October 20, 2025: a public planting of trees took place in Taganrog today, on October 20. The city has kept the tradition to observe this holiday since the first action, which was held twelve years ago with participation of Dr. Georg Birgelen, Deputy Head of Mission of the German Embassy in Moscow.

Taganrog City Executive Svetlana Kambulova, Taganrog City Council President Roman Koryakin, deputies of Taganrog City Council, representatives of local enterprises and institutions, and city residents took part in the event.


This time, the main work area on Arbor Day was the public garden behind the Chekhov monument, in Krasnaya Ploshchad (Red Square). The participants planted there 20 seedlings of linden. A total of 420 trees and over 360 shrubs were planted in Taganrog on October 20.

On her Telegram channel, Taganrog City Executive Svetlana Kambulova promised timely watering and treatment of the trees and shrubs. She also urged the citizens to take good care of the green spaces of Taganrog.
