September 13-17, 2012: official delegation from the German partner city of Badenweiler
visited Taganrog to participate in the events dedicated to 314 years of city's foundation.
Oleg Demenev, First Deputy Mayor received the Badenweiler delegation in his office. "Let me express my gratitude for accepting our invitation. I am confident that this visit to our city will be pleasant and productive. You have a chance to attend many events, including the festival "Sport by the Whole Wide World. From the Bottom of the Heart"
, theater festival "In the Homeland of Anton Chekhov"
, several new photo and art exhibitions".
Head of the German delegation, Bürgermeister Karl-Eugen Engler in his turn thanked Taganrog Local Government for providing an opportunity to see the city from another perspective through participation in festivities. "I would like to make a compliment to your city", - said Mr. Engler - "We have been visiting Taganrog for more than 10 years, and with each visit we notice it's becoming more and more beautiful and well-kept".
The Bürgermeister also expressed intentions to develop not only cultural relations, further extending economic ties with Taganrog. With that in mind Mr. Konstantin Savenko, head of the Taganrog Trade & Development Council presented the information on economic potential and current situation in the city, as well as plans for the near future.
German partners were interested in ideas of further development of small and medium-sized businesses in Taganrog and in citywide projects. The parties agreed to share experience in several sectors.
The delegation participated in the city day celebrations, visited Taganrog Museum of Art, Taganrog Literary Museum "Chekhov Gymnasium", and The Taganrog Chekhov Drama Theater
