September 13, 2005: Beriev Aircraft Corp. took part at the Seventh Moscow International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS 2005, August 16-21. Beriev's company stand in the Pavilion E featured information on developed projects, including the BE-200, BE-103 and A-42PE amphibians.

Representatives of businesses and aircraft industry showed interest in Beriev Aircraft Company's projects. Meetings and negotiations with several foreign delegations were held. Victor Kobzev, Director General made the presentation "Beriev Aircraft Corp.: Main Directions of Activities", responding to questions of Russian and foreign journalists. Russian President Vladimir Putin also visited Beriev's stand and viewed the VIP version of the BE-200 amphibian.


Irkut Corp. signed an agreement within the framework of MAKS-2005 with the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS) on creation of a new joint venture to promote the amphibious aircraft BE-200 on the world markets. The new company will be responsible for sales, marketing and support of BE-200 worldwide, and its international certification. It was mentioned at the ceremony of signature that at present, the amphibian BE-200 is being successfully used by the Russian Federation's Ministry of Emergency Situations and operates in Italy within the framework of the leasing contract between Beriev Aircraft Corp. and La SOREM S.R.L., the official authorized firefighting service operator assigned by the Civil Protection Department (Protezione Civile) of Italy. Some Mediterranean, Southeast Asia countries and the United States of America showed interest in the amphibian. The Corporation signed another contract with Logistics Business Systems Ltd., the world's leading defense logistics support company from Great Britain. The deal covers supply of software solutions for Integrated Logistics Support (ILS System) for aircraft operation. Similar ILS systems are used by the air force, aircraft manufacturers and aviation companies worldwide.

Russian Minister of Emergency Situations, Mr. Sergey Shoigu; Russian Air Force Commander in Chief, General Mikhailov; Director of the Federal Forestry Agency, Mr. Roshupkin; the Republic of Ghana Minister of Defense, and other Russian federal officials and foreign visitors went to see the multipurpose amphibian BE-200ES.

Work and business meetings were held within the framework of the expo, including negotiations with representatives of Motor Sych (Ukraine) and Ivchenko PROGRESS Design Bureau (Ukraine) on joint efforts for certification of BE-200 and its engines in compliance with European and U.S. regulations; a meeting with delegation of Rheinmetal Defense Electronics GmbH (Germany) on creation of a training center in the city of Taganrog; and a meeting with Russian-American work group on aviation cooperation. A cooperation agreement between the exhibitions Gidroaviasalon-2006 and ILA-2006 was also signed during MAKS-2005 Expo.
