August 28, 2006 - the official delegation of the city of Le Mans, France visited Taganrog within the framework of their visit to Rostov Oblast and the sister city of Rostov on Don.

Mayor Jean-Claude Boulard and Mr. Jean-Paul Couasnon, Director of Le Mans Economic Development Agency visited Anton Chekhov memorial sites and other city's main tourist attractions - Peter the Great monument, Anton Chekhov's birthhouse, Chekhov Gymnasium, Taganrog Museum of Art and Alferaki Palace. Nikolay Fedyanin, Mayor of Taganrog received the official French delegation in the office of mayor, where they gave a short press conference after the meeting.
