August 22, 2017: delegation from
Lüdenscheid's Adolf Reichwein Gesamtschule visited the city of Taganrog within the framework of German school's thirtieth anniversary. Teachers Monica Rode and Jurgen Kelle made a tour of historical landmarks within the framework of an extensive and interesting program, and laid down flowers to WWII monuments in Taganrog and Matveev-Kurgan. German guests also went to see the cities of Azov and Starocherkassk, where they visited the local history museums, the old Azov fortress powder magazine, the Ataman estate museum and Resurrection cathedral in Starocherkassk, and a reenactment of Azov Siege.
Such meetings represent a mutual desire to maintain a strong and positive bond between the institutions and to further develop educational cooperation between the two sister cities. A reciprocal visit to Lüdenscheid by the Taganrog Chekhov Teacher College delegation headed by Mr. Andrey Goloborodko is scheduled for September 2017.
