Cruise line Moscow - Rostov-on-Don - Taganrog starts working

July 20, 2008: the cruise ship "Anatoliy Papanov" tied up at the berth 8 of the Taganrog harbor. It brought to Taganrog tourists from different cities of Russia. According to director of cruise Tatyana Semenihina, the cruise ship had 200 tourists on board. They were from Moscow, St. Petersburg and Murmansk.

The shipping companies "Voyage" from Rostov and the Taganrog-based "Sputnik-Yug" that are closely related by working partnership, made up their minds to resume the cruises to our city. The inhabitants of our city voyaged often with the cruise ships of "Voyage" over the rivers and seas of Russia.

Alexander Sudakov, the general director of "Sputnik-Yug", took care of the technical part. It was necessary to go through the formality with the harbor guidance and the customs office in order that the vessel could enter in the harbor and tourists could go ashore without problem. The fact is that commercial port of Taganrog is a strategical object and nobody could go ashore without frontier control.

The ship communication between Taganrog and outside world has been resumed: for the first time after a long pause a passenger liner came to Taganrog again.

The travel agency "Sputnik-Yug" organized a tour of the city for the passengers of the motor ship: the historical downtown, the memorial Chekhov sites, and the ancient city of Tanais.
