July 1, 2005: International children's competition of pianists CZECH CUP (Concours International des pianistes pour les enfants) was held in Paris (France), June 4-12, 2005.
The contest was held among the gifted children from all over Europe. Russia was represented with students of Taganrog Tchaikovsky Children's Music School: Margarita Voikovskaya, prize-winner at the 2003 International competition in Kiev, prize-winner at the 2005 Chopin International contest in Antonin, Poland; and Margarita Pirogova, prize-winner at the International competition of young pianists "Art of the XXI Century" in Kiev, Ukraine and awardwinner at the International competition of young pianists "Amadeus" in the city of Brno, Chech Republic.
The two Margaritas from Taganrog presented to the jury and viewers various interesting programs and despite their ages (9 and 11 years old) performed works of Frédéric Chopin, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Johann Sebastian Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
The jury has awarded the contest participants from Taganrog with the Grand Prix for Margarita Voskovskaya and a prize for Margarita Pirogova. The artistry of young musicians and their ability to feel through and to listen made a great impression in Paris.
