April 21, 2006 - within the frameworks of
Beriev Aircraft Corp. was established and certificated the only air company in Russia to operate amphibians in civil needs.
The Ministry of Transport of Russian Federation issued Certificate of Operator N 487 on April 10, 2006. In accordance with this certificate,
Beriev Aircraft Company has been recognized as a company corresponding to requirements of Russian Federation's legislation and regulations of the Convention on International Civil Aviation, also known as the "Chicago Convention" in terms of international civil air flights and airwork on amphibians Beriev BE-103.
The meeting of the commission of the Southern Centre for certification of operators preceded the release of the certificate. Members of the commission assisted at the new air company's presentation and carried out a flight of inspection onboard Be-103.
Further plans of company include air transportation of passengers, sightseeing flights, air visual works in waters of the Southern Federal District and introduction of BE-103 planes into other regions of Russia. At present, the company is working on the inclusion of two
Beriev Be-200 amphibians into the Certificate of Operator and into the Register of civil aircrafts.
