April 10, 2023: a public planting of trees was held in Taganrog on April 8-9, 2023. The city has kept the tradition to observe this holiday since the first action, which was held ten years ago with participation of Dr. Georg Birgelen, Deputy Head of Mission of the German Embassy in Moscow.

Taganrogers participated in several re-greening actions across the city streets, parks and other territories, including Chekhov Embankment, the square "Zvezda" in front of FORTE Stadium, the Old Stone Steps surroundings.


Over 900 trees and 800 shrubs were planted in Taganrog in a single weekend by representatives of Rostov Oblast Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Taganrog Local Government, workers of Beriev Aircraft Corp., TAGMET, PRIBOY, Krasny Gidropress, Taganrog City Council, municipal corporations workers, members of junior natural history study groups, youth movements and city residents.
