The historical and literary almanac Milestones of Taganrog was founded by the Taganrog Local Government and with assistance of Rostov Oblast Ministry of Culture in 1999. The first issue was dedicated to bicentenary of Russian poet Alexander Pushkin. Twenty-five issues have been released since then, with each magazine becoming an event in the art life of Taganrog.

The new, 26th issue of Milestones of Taganrog is dedicated to German heritage in the history of Taganrog. It features a foreword by German Ambassador to Russia the Honorable Walter Jurgen Schmidt, many articles, memoirs dedicated to German heraldry in Taganrog, history of the Lutheran church, German architects Fyodor Schechtel and Andrei Stakenschneider, historian and founder of Russian heraldry Alexander Lakier, Russian-German Friendship House, sister city relationships and partnership city relationships in Germany - Lüdenscheid and Badenweiler, results of archaeological excavations by the Deutsches Archaeologisches Institut in 2005, General Paul von Rennenkampf, poems and more. The magazine will be available in the bookstores at the end of January, during the 146th Chekhov anniversary celebrations.
