October 26, 2018: the opening ceremony of the 6th consecutive festival dedicated to European cinema was held on the night of October 25, 2018 at the Taganrog Youth Center. Since the beginning of the festival back in 2012, Taganrog movie enthusiasts have been exposed to the cinema of Poland, Hungary, Switzerland, France (twice in 2017 and 2016), Italy, Germany, Ireland and Estonia.

The program of the festival was presented by João Carlos Mendonça, cultural attache at the Embassy of Portugal in Russia. The festival opened with the film "Zeus" (2017, directed by Paulo Filipe Monteiro).


The Portuguese cinema program features 9 screenings in a wide variety of styles, from historical dramas to documentaries. The films will be shown October 25-28, 2018 in Portuguese with Russian subtitles.

The 6th edition of the European cinema festival has been organized by Taganrog Local Government, Taganrog Arts & Culture Council and Taganrog Youth Center.
