June 3, 2025: the tourism press trip through the city was designed to show selected national media outlets what Taganrog has to offer visitors. It was held by Taganrog Local Government to enhance the tourist flow into Taganrog and to raise the profile of the city as a prominent cultural point and a convenient vacation spot.
The event brought together media representatives from Krasnodar, Moscow, Rostov-on-Don, Sochi, Usman, Yalutorovsk, and Yeysk.
The program of the visit featured the city's main tourist attractions, popular places and routes, expositions of
local museums. Taken as a whole, the itinerary let the media representatives embrace the rich history of Taganrog.
Products of local
visitor information centers as well as programs of the Taganrog Group of Museums (TGLIAMZ) were presented at the closing conference held at the Taganrog Chekhov Literature Museum. The participants of the pressed trip compared notes on their impressions of the city, discussed the prospects for the local tourism industry, and the media image of Taganrog.
In April 2025, Taganrog got the
grand prix in the category "The City of Travel Itineraries and Excursion Programs" in the final of the 2nd All-Russian Award "Tourist Cities,", which took place in the framework of the Forum of Tourist Regions and Cities.
