June 2, 2025: the 2025 Jining High-quality Cultural and Tourism Industry Development Conference took place in the city of Jining, Shandong Province, China on May 29-30. The event addressed the issues of international cooperation, particularly in the spheres of economy, culture, science and technology.

Prior to the conference, Taganrog City Executive Svetlana Kambulova had recorded her video message to the members of the conference. It was shown at the opening ceremony on May 29.


"Since 2009, Taganrog has been developing friendly relations with Jining. Large-scale bilateral events have been held, such as the Confucian Exhibition in Taganrog and an exhibition dedicated to Chekhov and Russian culture in your city. Children of Jining have taken part in numerous cultural and educational programs organized by our city. In 2024, an exhibition of drawings by school students from Jining entitled "Chekhov and His Characters" was held at several locations in Taganrog.

"The global culture and tourism industry has an emotional impact that connects the world. We hope that today's event will become a staging ground for further deepening of the cooperation between Jining and Taganrog," said Svetlana Kambulova.
