March 23, 2023: Taganrog Chekhov Public Library and Taganrog Group of Museums took part in the 17th conference of the International Society of Chekhov Museums and Libraries. It was held in the Melikhovo Estate Museum on March 17-19. In addition to Taganrog, the event gathered representatives of museums and libraries of Moscow, Sakhalin, Yalta, and Yaroslavl.
On the whole, the attendees shared information about their projects and exhibitions, current achievements and future plans. For example, the head of the Czarist-Era and valuable editions department of Taganrog Chekhov Public Library Natalya Martynova not only spoke about the library's old-time periodicals associated with the name of
Anton Chekhov, but also reported on the international campaign
"The World Reads Chekhov", co-organized with Taganrog Local Government's Foreign Relations Office.
Finally, Natalya Martynova expressed her gratitude to Moscow's Bakhrushin State Central Theater Museum for its book donation, which is a valuable contribution in Taganrog Chekhov Public Library's collection on the life and work of
Anton Chekhov.
