January 26, 2022: Rostov Oblast Governor Vasily Golubev visited Taganrog within the framework of a working trip to the city on January 25. He came to inspect state of the sites under refurbishment that were included in
Taganrog's urban revitalization program.
Basing on the results of Pushkinskaya Embankment's inspection and follow-up discussions, Vasily Golubev requested the local authorities to clarify the details and accelerate the drawing up of the project's road map.
Governor also inspected the street car line no.2. Earlier in December the
second modernization phase of Taganrog streetcar system began. The project is realized within the framework of
concession agreement for a new streetcar system and procurement of trams for Taganrog, signed in May 2021. Old rails had already been dismantled, and new rails were currently being laid. The arrival of new streetcars is expected shortly. The works on the streetcar line no.2 are to be finished in the spring.
Vasily Golubev paid a visit to Taganrog's children's walk-in clinic no.2. It was renovated and overhauled last year; medical equipment was updated as well.
In discussing Taganrog's urban revitalization program, governor recalled that 2022 is an anniversary year, as it marks both the 350th anniversary of Peter the Great's birth and the 85th anniversary of Rostov Oblast. All the major works on the program therefore must be completed before the end of this year.
