Taganrog's urban revitalization program.
The high-ranking delegation was briefed on the progress of works to construct a floating cruise ship pier. The head of Federal Agency for Sea and Inland Water Transport (Rosmorrechflot) Zachary Dzhioyev personally reported on the work scope completed and further development plans. The floating pier's construction started in August. In early September the two first pier sections were installed near the storm-surge barrier (ex-pier 9). A yacht moored to the floating pier in the test mode.
The floating pier (8 sections of 12 meters) is to be completed before the end of May 2023. The head of Rosmorrechflot confirmed that all works will be finished in spring, ready to take in cruise ships. "Everything must be done quickly. This is a very important facility. It means infrastructure development, which is critical for this coastal city. We have to speed it up. There is no time to lose", noted Valentina Matvienko.
Earlier, Sinara Group, which has been involved into the
establishment of a new streetcar system, introduced the investment project "Priazovye" as part of integrated development of
Taganrog as a tourist destination. It represents a brand new tourism complex along the shores of Taganrog Bay. its area is to occupy 27 hectares with lodging establishments, a congress center, cafes, and various public places.
