January 22, 2025: on the eve of
Anton Chekhov's 165th birthday, a commemorative event took place in the writer's home city of Taganrog. As follows, an exhibition dedicated to Chekhov's short story "Kashtanka" was unveiled to the public in the showroom of Taganrog Chekhov Public Library on January 21.
The emphasis of the exhibition was placed on the drawings of Kashtanka that have been received in the framework of the International Children's Art Contest
"Anton Chekhov and Characters of his Works" since its launch in 2004. Numerous volumes of "Kashtanka" are also exhibited in the showroom, as well as some other fiction books on dogs for boys and girls from the collections of local libraries.
Special attention is to be caught with showpieces from the world of circus arts, provided by Dmitry Artemyev, a member of the famous Artemyev circus family and director of the local museum dedicated to
Anatoly Durov.
The exhibition in the showroom of Taganrog Chekhov Public Library will be available until February 2, 2025.
